 Robyn Austin
The common theme in Robyn's varied educational and work history is a love of words and language. Latin, French and German at school were followed by a degree in Latin and Greek, supplemented by Hebrew and Linguistics. All these vastly improved her grammar, vocabulary, and writing style - but didn't get her a job!
A diploma in classical archaeology and a stint as a library worker followed, before Robyn quit to have her two children. After seeing them through early childhood, she returned to library work but, four years later, abandoned it to go to journalism school. Afterwards, on the advice of a friend, she looked for a job at Right Words. Nine months later, there was one - on the police procedures manual! In the meantime, Robyn had been writing freelance and working on a community newspaper.
At Right Words, Robyn uses the skills she developed learning languages, as well as the 'nose' and the discipline she acquired at journalism school.
Outside work, she tramps, climbs and does her garden.
